Cuauhtemoc Rodriguez’s Personal Profile & Experience

Mr. Cuauhtemoc Rodriguez, also known as “Temo,” is a Business Consultant and Planner for Aztlan Business Consultants and specializes in the following areas:

  • Effectively assisting entrepreneurs in starting and/or expanding a successful business
  • Properly writing, or improving, business plans for financing or other purposes
  • Skillfully conducting market research for analysis and business (including real estate) planning purposes
  • Successfully linking businesses to useful resources
  • Competently developing functional urban commercial real estate

Mr. Rodriguez is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was raised in a neighborhood that is primarily African-American with small groups of Asians, Latinos and Anglos. This fostered his appreciation for multiculturalism. His passions are diversity, workforce and economic development – tools essential to building a healthier future for all.

He developed his first business plan in 1997 during a semester-long entrepreneurship course at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. This experience at UW-Whitewater inspired Mr. Rodriguez’s interest in entrepreneurship, market research, business planning and writing. Knowledge gained at UW-Whitewater advanced his passion to work for positive change - studying Business, Spanish and Social Work as well as working for the University of Whitewater in various capacities and actively participating in various student organizations.

In 2001, Mr. Rodriguez received a call from a banker friend to write a business plan for his first official client, a Baker. Mr. Rodriguez put his skills to the test! He partnered with an Accountant; decided to not charge his first client; and it was only after several home visits, meals and good-old fashioned fellowmanship that a final business plan was written. Temo coordinated a meeting between his first client, a bank, the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and a Lawyer to bring promise to the successful purchase of the building his client urgently desired for his new bakery. The rest is history…

He has worked for and/or continues to work with organizations such as:

• University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education
• Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC)
• Main Street Milwaukee
• Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC)
• Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (UEP)

• Latino Entrepreneur Network (LEN)
• United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC)
• Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee (HPGM)
• Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS)
• Salvation Army

Mr. Rodriguez is a Founding/Board Member of the Latino Entrepreneurial Network (www.lenwi.org), reestablished the MENTE Mentorship Program for the Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee (www.hpgm.org) and facilitated the establishment of the Kauffman Coaching Program for the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (www.milwaukeeuep.com). He graduated from the Associates in Commercial Real Estate (ACRE) program (www.marquette.edu/cre), at Marquette University, in 2008 and is continuing his education in the second ACRE program for 2009.

Mr. Rodriguez appreciates the world having traveled internationally to India (as an Ambassador for the Rotary International) (See: http://www.tajhostingagra.com/taj/th11mar.htm), Brazil and Mexico as well as to Florida, Texas, California, Illinois and Indiana within the United States. He believes that an understanding of our world is critical to creative thinking, progress and success in our lives! He is committed to volunteering, having contributed over a thousand hours of his personal time to a broad array of causes within the community – he states, “It is our civic duty to embrace and contribute to our country and communities!” On the other hand, he is a very strong advocate for wealth creation and development as well.
